Virtual Livestream Classes

Practice live with your favorite peacebank instructors from the comfort of your own home via Virtual Livestream classes.

Schedule, Packages, & Rates

Virtual Livestream classes are marked as such on our schedule. In addition to our regular pricing options, we offer special rates specifically for online classes.

Livestream Overview & Instructions

All online offerings are hosted on Zoom, the leading video conferencing tool. If you have never used Zoom and would like to prepare ahead of time, you can download the Zoom app to your computer and/or mobile device in advance. Otherwise, the first time you click on a Zoom link, the program should install and launch automatically. While this should be quick and simple, we suggest allowing yourself a few extra minutes before joining your first Virtual Livestream class so that you don’t miss out on any of the good stuff. Here’s a quick tutorial for joining your first Zoom event.

  1. Create a student account using Recess and/or make sure your contact information is up-to-date and accurate in your existing account. Be sure to opt-in to receive email notifications.

  2. We recommend registering for online classes and virtual events in advance. Two hours before class begins, you will receive an email with a link to join via Zoom. (Note: If you book within two hours of a class’ start time, you will receive an email with the Zoom link shortly after registering.)

  3. Enjoy your Virtual Livestream class! See below for some simple ways to enhance your virtual class experience.

Livestream Class Tips & Best Practices

  • Select your viewing device: It's best to use a computer, laptop, or iPad. While we encourage you to choose the device that is best for you, we do not recommend using your cell phone. With cell phones, there tends to be greater potential for audio and video issues. Plus, it’ll be harder for you to see and follow along as you practice if using a smaller screen.

  • Set up your device: Set up your viewing device where you can see it without strain, if possible. Make sure you're connected to the internet/wifi and that your connection is strong to avoid streaming issues.

  • Situate your camera: Many teachers attempt to observe students during Virtual Livestream classes to offer verbal adjustments and encouragement. If you want to be seen, make sure your camera is on and positioned so that the teacher can observe your practice. In this case, consider the lighting situation in your space. Ideally, have a bright, indirect or overhead light source from behind your camera and avoid backlighting.

  • Prepare your props: Grab any props you need or desire for your practice. If you don't have traditional yoga props, you can use books for blocks, rolled up blankets or towels for bolsters, and ties or scarves for straps. Get creative and go with the flow! If you want the real deal, swing by peacebank’s retail shop.

  • Settle in: Just as you would do if you were coming to the studio, give yourself a few moments before class to settle in. Find a quiet and comfortable space, set any distractions aside, and silence your phone.

  • Show respect: Please be as respectful of your instructor and fellow yogis as you would be during an In-Studio class. Arrive early (5 minutes or so) to connect with the teacher and others before class begins and to avoid accidental disruptions. If the teacher requests that you mute your microphone, please do so.

  • Take care of yourself: Please listen to and honor your body in order to observe a practice that is safe and appropriate for you at any given time. Remember, the instructor is not physically present with you to offer hands-on adjustments or immediate assistance, and you are ultimately responsible for your own well-being. Please remember all offerings are optional and you should cater your practice to what works best for you.

  • Enjoy and connect: If you'd like, log in a few minutes early and/or linger for a few minutes after class to chat with your instructor and fellow yogis. This is totally optional, but highly encouraged!
