Your spine's rotational range of motion is an essential ingredient of proper posture and physical well-being.
But which part of the spinal column is designed to twist and how?
In this workshop we review the mechanics of spinal rotation and explore the therapeutic benefits of twist-based yoga postures: relief for chronic discomfort in the lower back, the "squeeze-and-soak" detox action of twists on internal organs and how rotating the spine in an anatomically correct manner helps promote healthy hips and shoulders.
